The controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as it is not required to do so. For any privacy request, you can write to the addresses indicated above.
2. Who the website is intended for
The website presents medical devices and dental materials and is intended for professionals in the dental and dental laboratory sector. Some sections are reserved for healthcare professionals: the access declaration is stored only on your device and is not associated with your identity. The website is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 16.
3. What data we process
a) Browsing data
The systems that operate the website acquire, by the mere fact of the connection, certain technical data: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, response code, browser type and operating system. These data are used to operate the website, to ensure its security (for example against cyber attacks and automated traffic) and to establish any unlawful acts.
b) Data you send us voluntarily
The website does not contain any data collection forms. If you write to us at the published e-mail addresses or call us, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, company, content of the request) in order to reply to you.
c) Cookies and similar technologies
We use only technical cookies necessary for the operation of the website and, exclusively with your consent, third-party content (Google Maps map) and traffic statistics provided by our hosting provider. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or profiling. Fonts and icons are served directly from our servers. Details are available in the Cookie Policy; you can change your choices at any time via the “Manage consent” link on every page.
4. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (Art. 6 GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Provision of the website, security, prevention of abuse | Browsing data, technical cookies | Legitimate interest of the controller (point f) |
| Replying to requests for information, sales enquiries or support requests | Data you send us | Pre-contractual measures taken at your request (point b) or legitimate interest (point f) |
| Display of the Google Maps map | IP address, technical device data | Consent (point a) |
| Aggregated traffic statistics of the hosting service | Visitor identifier, pages visited | Consent (point a) |
| Compliance with legal obligations and establishment or defence of legal claims | All necessary data | Legal obligation (point c) and legitimate interest (point f) |
| Proof of cookie consent | Choices made in the banner, date, anonymous identifier | Legal obligation (point c) |
Providing browsing data is necessary in order to use the website. Providing other data is optional, but without it we will not be able to reply to your request. Refusing non-technical cookies does not limit browsing: in that case the map remains replaced by a placeholder.
5. Recipients of the data
The data are processed by the controller’s authorised personnel and by the following providers, appointed as processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR:
- GoDaddy – website hosting and traffic statistics (the latter only with your consent);
- Cloudflare – content delivery network and protection against attacks;
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365) – management of the e-mail we use to reply to your requests;
- Google – Google Maps service, activated only if you consent.
The data may be disclosed to public authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data and we do not transfer it to third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Transfer of data outside the European Union
Some providers are based in the United States or process data there. Transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for providers that participate in it, and in any case on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission (Art. 46 GDPR). You can request a copy of the safeguards adopted by writing to the addresses indicated in section 1.
7. How long we keep the data
- Browsing data: for the technically necessary period, normally no longer than 12 months, unless needed to establish unlawful acts;
- Correspondence: for the time necessary to handle the request and any resulting business relationship; documents relevant for civil-law or tax purposes for 10 years;
- Cookie consent log: for the time necessary to demonstrate consent; your choices in the banner are requested again after 12 months;
- Cookies: for the duration indicated in the Cookie Policy.
8. Your rights
At any time you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15-21 GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the “Manage consent” link, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. To exercise your rights, write to info@major.dental or to majordental@pec.it: we will reply within one month.
If you believe that the processing infringes the applicable law, you can lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of the country in which you reside or work.
We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
